Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of Jedit Pro (the "App"), a macOS application provided by Artman21 Inc. ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

2. License Grant

We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App in accordance with these Terms.

• The App may be used only on Apple-branded products that you own or control.
• All copyright and other intellectual property rights in the App remain with us. These Terms grant a license to use the App; they are not a sale of the App.
• You may use the App on other devices associated with your Apple Account to the extent permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

3. Free Trial

The App includes a 7-day free trial of all Pro features, starting from first launch.

• No payment is required during the trial, and no cancellation is needed when it starts or ends.
• When the trial ends, Pro-only features become unavailable. Purchasing one of the plans in sections 4 or 5 restores them.
• Ending the trial never deletes or locks documents you have created. Opening, editing, saving, and printing documents continue to work.

4. Yearly Subscription

• Name: Jedit Pro Yearly Subscription
• Price: JPY 3,000 per year (tax included; local pricing applies in other regions)
• Duration: 1 year, automatically renewing
• Content: Access to all Pro features of the App for the duration of the subscription.

Automatic renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• The renewal charge is applied within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in the App Store on your Mac, or in System Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. After cancelling, access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• No partial or prorated refunds are given for the unused portion of a subscription period.
• If we change the price, Apple will notify you in advance. A price increase applies only if you agree to it.

5. Lifetime License

• Name: Jedit Pro Lifetime License
• Price: JPY 5,000 (tax included; local pricing applies in other regions), one-time payment
• Content: Access to all Pro features of the App with no time limit. There is no automatic renewal.
• Update coverage: The Lifetime License applies to Jedit Pro version 1.x. All updates released during the 1.x series are included at no additional cost. If a future major version (2.0 or later) is released, a separate purchase may be required.

6. Purchases, Payment, and Refunds

• All in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and charged to the payment method on your Apple Account.
• You can restore previous purchases at any time using "Restore Purchases" in the purchase window. Purchases can be restored only with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.
• Refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds ourselves.

7. Restrictions

You may not:

• copy, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, redistribute, rent, sell, or sublicense the App;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• circumvent or disable the licensing or in-app purchase mechanisms; or
• use the App for any unlawful purpose.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

• The App is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the App is fit for any particular purpose, error-free, or that it will operate without interruption.
• You are responsible for backing up the data you edit with the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of or inability to use the App, including loss or corruption of data.
• Where the App integrates with third-party services (such as Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, or MCP connections to AI clients), we are not responsible for the content, availability, or terms of those services.
• Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the App.

9. Relationship with Apple

The following applies if you obtained the App through the App Store:

• These Terms are concluded between you and us only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
• We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
• We are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, claims arising under consumer protection law, and third-party claims that the App infringes intellectual property rights.
• You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against you.

10. Privacy

Our handling of data is described in the separate Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Revised Terms take effect when posted on this page. We will announce significant changes in the App or on this site.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute between you and us relating to the App or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the location of our head office as the court of first instance.
